Yes. Our smart home backbone is fully Apple Home and Matter protocol compatible, so you can add future devices from any Matter-certified brand without rebuilding the system.

Wired systems like KNX use dedicated cables and are ideal for new construction, they offer superior reliability, zero interference, and 25+ year lifespan. Wireless systems use WiFi, Zigbee or Thread protocols and are better for retrofitting existing homes without rewiring. Onwords recommends wired KNX for new villas and wireless for existing homes.

For a new construction with pre-wiring, the complete smart home setup takes 2 to 4 weeks after civil work is complete. Retrofitting an existing home with wireless automation typically takes 3 to 7 days depending on the number of rooms and devices.

KNX is a worldwide open standard (ISO/IEC 14543) for home and building automation. Unlike WiFi-based systems, KNX uses a dedicated bus cable that operates independently of your internet. This means your lights, curtains, and climate control work even during WiFi outages. KNX systems have a proven lifespan of 25+ years.
